Technical Regulation CU TR 034/2013 on safety of meat and meat products adopted in the framework of the Customs Union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan by the Decree No. 68 of October 09, 2013 of the Eurasian Economic Commission came into force on May 01, 2014.
Scope and relevant products
This technical regulation of the Customs Union applies to:
slaughter and meat products, including animal tallow drippings, blood and its processing products, bone and its processing products, meat stock, powder meat and meat containing products, meat products for children, etc.
manufacturing, storage, transportation, marketing and disposal processes of meat and meat products
This technical regulation of the Customs Union does not apply to:
slaughter and meat products produced by private households
specialized meat products produced from slaughter products
poultry meat and any meat where the presence of poultry meat is superior to the contents of slaughter products
food additives and biologically active supplements, medicine, animal food, non-alimentary meat-based products
food products for catering companies
food prodcuts where the contents of meat is inferior to 5%
manufacturing, storage, transportation, marketing and disposal processes of meat and meat products for non-industrial production

Prior to launching meat and meat products onto the market, the manufacturer / representative should:
comply with the basic health and safety requirements of the Technical Regulation CU TR 034/2013
apply procedures for conformity assessment
obtain conformity documents (Declaration of Conformity, Sanitary Expertise) and make sure that the latter is included in products
make sure that products bear the EAC mark
In practice, any products coming onto the Customs Union markets (sales outlets and commissioning sites) after customs clearance should include originals / certified copies of conformity documents.
